Iqyax rolling

It has been such a busy spring. Paddles have been made, classes have been held. And in between, I have built a new Iqyax....

My theory is that rolling any kayak is all about padding.... or at least mostly.

This little beauty is 5,18 cm. long, 52 cm. wide. Canvas covered wooden frame, spruce and oak...19 kilo including sea sock and a pretty flat/square cross section..

I did a little test ride this afternoon. As expected, it was fast and very stable. It fitted me like a glove and I had no difficulty doing pretty advanced Greenland rolls in it.....The video shows elbow roll, forward ending hand roll and static bracing with elbow roll ending.. :)

Paddling and kayak build movie...

I just came home from a great trip to "my" island in lake Eikeren...It was cold, windy and rainy, but after 1/2 hour of paddling, the pain in my back that I've had for a couple of days just disappeared! and my mind just cleared....and I felt so good...in the cold, wind and rain....And I started wondering why I don't paddle more often...

Once home, I noticed last year's movie project was spread on the internet, shared and liked 1000 times! warms my heart. Watch and enjoy:
